TENIOS announced a Rich Communication Services product aimed at retailers in a press release dated 6 November 2024. RCS extends the plain SMS channel with images, video, branding and buttons, so a message can carry an in-app purchase, an appointment confirmation or a promotion rather than text alone.
Two arguments in the announcement matter more than the format itself. The first is identity: TENIOS says every message carries the sender’s logo and brand colours, and that RCS supports verified sender identities and end-to-end encryption. The company frames this as protection against phishing and spoofing, a growing problem for retailers whose customers cannot tell a genuine delivery notice from a fraudulent one. The second is measurement. Open rates, click rates and interaction data return to the sender, turning a broadcast channel into one that can be optimised.
The product sits alongside the numbers, cloud PBX and voicebot lines TENIOS already sells, and extends the group’s messaging business beyond SMS delivery. The original is published in German.
