In a case study published on 24 July 2026, TENIOS describes an AI voice agent introduced at Haus des Meeres, an aquarium spread over twelve floors in Vienna and open every day of the year. TENIOS says the agent was deployed together with Callcom, its Austrian telecoms partner, and that rollout was incremental and tested during live operation because the site has no quiet season.
According to the case study, the agent answers recurring first-line enquiries — opening hours, ticket prices, whether dogs are allowed — and takes reservations for the bar on the top floor as far as table selection, passing anything more complex to staff. Over three months TENIOS records 8,539 calls handled and around 1,700 automated minutes a month. It reports that 91 per cent of callers engaged with the agent, 38 per cent of calls were general enquiries closed without transfer, 27 per cent were reservation requests handled without staff and 15 per cent went through to a person.
Hans Köppen, the aquarium’s chief executive, is quoted saying the decisive requirement was answers that were reliable and controllable. The original is published in German.
