Sarkor Telecom announced on 17 April 2024 that high-speed internet from the company had become available to residents of Yangiyul, Keles and Chirchik. All three are towns in the Tashkent region, outside the administrative boundary of Tashkent city, where the company’s own fibre network has been concentrated since it began building it.
The announcement was made through the operator’s own news channel and is short. It gives no figures for premises passed, no technology and no capital commitment; prospective subscribers were directed to the call centre or to an online form to check whether their address could be connected. Boxwood found no further statement from the company on how far the regional build has since gone.
Sarkor describes its access network on its own website as a mix of ADSL, FTTB and GPON, with ADSL equipment installed at almost every telephone exchange in the capital and GPON being rolled out in selected districts. That page carries no date. The announcement was published in Russian.
