Marat is responsible for Boxwood’s own finances and for the financial discipline of the companies we invest in. In practice that means budgeting, capital allocation and building reporting that holds up in a board meeting — often for the first time in a founder-led business.

Background

Marat has worked both on starting new businesses and on developing large corporations. He began as a chief accountant and budget controller, and went on to become finance director at leading fixed-line operators. His career has been linked to Petersburg Transit Telecom, Synterra and, from 2008 to 2021, MTT.

He applies the same principles at work and at home: a sober approach, high effectiveness and attention to detail.

Beyond work

Marat is a keen kite-surfer and a passionate cook.
